What is Included in Assisted Living Costs?

Amy TuckerInformation On Aging

The Oaks Retirement Community is transparent about rates for Assisted and Independent Living! We are acutely aware of the “hoops” families go through to get the “real” costs of assisted living communities. Beware! Of hidden costs when getting rates from other communities. Watch for “Level of Care Assessments” or LOCA’s which are charges for specific types of care (assistance with bathing, dressing, etc.) and this care is charged in addition to the “base rate”.

At The Oaks, we want you to know what to expect on your monthly bill. Private rooms are $3650 per month ($120/day) and $3350 ($110/day for semi-private rooms). All bedrooms are professionally designed and furnished with abed/lounger/TV/closet/dresser/bed stand. Semi-private rooms share a common suite area with another resident. We love how this arrangement encourages social interaction while providing privacy at any time.

There are NO hidden charges or level of care assessment charges. This charge includes 24/7 staff oversight who are certified to give medications, licensed nurse coverage 40 hours per week, Medical Director oversight, 3 meals a day, assistance with all activities of daily living, activities, and a gorgeous view of the Ozarks!

We are proud to have rate transparency! Remember, when researching costs and studies as below, beware of “hidden charges”that may not be reported for these studies. The Genworth Cost of Care Survey 2018 says that the national median cost for assisted living per month is $4,000, which breaks down to around $133 per day (and adds up to $48,000 per year)
