The Oaks Retirement Community
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move in without having to pay a large "entrance fee"?
YES.  The Oaks does not believe in tying up your money.  We believe you should be able to invest your hard-earned money for the best return possible, not having it tied up in entrance fees.

Is it affordable to live here?
YES.  Because of our unique method of service delivery at The Oaks, services beyond the basic packages are totally unbundled, you pay for only the services that you need or want.

Can I make my own schedule?
Yes.  Except for restaurant meal times and scheduled activities, you control your own schedule.

Can I bring my car?
YES.  Convenient parking is available for your automobile.

If I need skilled nursing services such as physical therapy, do I need to move to a nursing home?
As long as your needs can safely be met, you may never have to move from your home.  Personal home health care services, such as assistance with bathing, medication setup and reminders and other additional care needs can be provided through our home care agency.  Medicare Part B will pay for skilled nursing services and therapies through the home health at The Oaks just as it would in any other home setting.

What is included in my "basic" rent package?
Many services and amenities are included.  24-hour security and emergency call, one meal per day of your choice, weekly housekeeping, trash removal, and flat linen service.  Activities, fitness center membership, the computer center, and concierge services are but to name a few.
